  • With Healthy Seas Socks you’re saving the ocean by purchasing soft and comfortable socks. That is because Healthy Seas Socks are partially made of old fishing nets. These so-called ghost nets are abandoned or lost in the ocean and are extremely harmful to the beautiful underwater world. In collaboration with the Healthy Seas initiative, Healthy Seas Socks recovers the ghost nets from the ocean to transform them into regenerated nylon. By recovering them, corals get a chance to flourish once again, sea animals won’t get stuck and further plastic pollution is prevented.

Healthy Seas Socks combines the regenerated ECONYL® nylon with GOTS organic cotton. That is how a seemingly simple sock changes into an easy opportunity to contribute to a better world.

The combination of organic cotton and regenerated nylon ensures the ultimate comfortable socks. All Healthy Seas Socks have a flat toe seam to prevent any painful pressure points. On top of that, the broadened rim makes sure that your socks stay put all day long. The perfect socks to make a stylish statement and the cosiest socks for lounging at home.

    Prints
The men’s socks are available in the following prints:

    1. Coley – a dark brown base with a twist because of its grey and black details
    2. Coral - a real eye-catcher: a classic design in a trendy and bright colour
    3. Barracuda - a classic black and grey sock with an orange board
    4. Krill - a grey base with a subtle strip pattern and some bold details on the sand coloured strong board combined with a bright orange heel and toe
    5. Mussel - a classic black and grey fishing net pattern with an orange board
    6. Plankton - from bright to serious, with trend colours raspberry and burnt sienna
    7. Lionfish - elements from different socks with different colours and structures
    8. Humpback - a solid sock with casual colours and a small, subtle logo: a limited edition in collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund

Are the happy prints a tat too much for you? Choose solid socks which are just as soft and environmentally friendly. Whether you choose a classic sock or a fun print of a fishing net pattern, with Healthy Seas Socks on your feet, you’re one step closer to a cleaner ocean.

About the brand

Healthy Seas Socks

Healthy Seas Socks are partially made of old fishing nets. These so-called ghost nets are abandoned or lost in the ocean and are extremely damaging to the beautiful underwater world. In collaboration with the Healthy Seas initiative, Healthy Seas Socks recovers the ghost nets from the ocean to transform them into regenerated nylon.

The Healthy Seas initiative is co-founded by Star Sock, the parent company of Healthy Seas Socks. Star Sock has been a producer of high-quality socks for many decades and now also in a sustainable way. The co-founders of this non-profit initiative are Ghost Diving and Aquafil. Ghost Diving specialises in the recovery of ghost nets and Aquafil produces nylon from waste.

Part of the profit of Healthy Seas Socks is donated to the Healthy Seas initiative. Healthy Seas uses this money for prevention, education, and the continuous recovery of old fishing nets. Since 2013, the Healthy Seas initiative has already recovered more than 500,000 kilo fishing nets. That is how they are making a difference together and how you can minimise your ecological footprint on our planet with such little effort.

Healthy Seas Socks also takes a stand in the worldwide improvement of working conditions in the textile industry. Together with its parent company, Healthy Seas Socks is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation. As a Fair Wear member, Star Sock guarantees that their socks are made with good working conditions and for fair pay.
