Organic laundry detergent that grows on trees! It simply doesn't get greener than this. Soapnuts are a natural, non-polluting and biodegradable alternative to conventional detergents and synthetic soaps. The mildness of soapnuts will keep colours bright, maintaining the fabric structure of your clothes for longer periods.
Soapnuts, also known as soapberries, are actually dried fruit shells from the Sapindaceae tree. The soapnuts contain a natural soap called saponin, which is released when they come into contact with water. The soapnuts are free from fillers, foaming agents, bleach and other harmful substances such as phthlates, phosphates or parabens.
Soapberries have a neutral scent. If you prefer your laundry to have a nice scent, you can simply add a few drops of essential oil to the wash.
The soapnuts are available in 500 grams or 1 kg, with or without a storage bag. The storage bag is made from 100% organic cotton.
How to use
Put 5 to 7 soapnuts in a laundry bag and tie the bag securely. Put the bag in the washing machine with the rest of your laundry. Save the used shells as they can be reused up to 4 times. Please note! If you purchase the soapnuts exlcuding storage bag, the laundry bag is not included.
You can use the soapnuts to make liquid detergent! Living Naturally explains how.
