Loofah Soap Cushion

  • The loofah soap cushion offers every solid soap a new, plastic-free place to dry. The naturally permeable structure of the loofah soap cushion allows water and soap residues to run off easily. The loofah not only keeps your soap bar dry, it also absorbs the soapy water which you can use to clean your sink.

Loofah is a renewable material that absorbs CO2 when it grows. The loofah plant is a vigorously growing vine from the cucumber family that is rich in durable fibres yet soft and flexible. When ripe, the inside of the loofah fruit develops a network of fibres that are perfect for cleaning and exfoliating purposes when dried. The cultivation is done under controlled conditions - of course without the use of pesticides. In addition, the soap pillow is produced climate neutral.

    Tip!
Before the first application, put some water on the loofah soap cushion so that the fibers can unfold and the cushion becomes air-permeable.

About the brand

Hydrophil

Hydrophil is founded by Christoph, Sebastian en Wanja, three friends from Hamburg. Their friendship has arisen through their joint commitment to the aid organisation Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli e.V. The three friends wondered whether it would be possible to produce products which are not only fairly traded, sustainable and vegan, but which, in view of the increasing problems around water scarcity, are also water neutral.

This idea became the brand Hydrophil. Hydrophil creates innovative and sustainable hygiene products. Where possible, Hydrophil uses resources which don't endanger ground or drinking water and don't require artificial irrigation. In this way they can significantly reduce water consumption and make people aware of it. Their products are vegan and cruelty free. Hydrophil believes that fair work deserves a fair reward. They keep an eye on their value chain down to the smallest detail and ensure that their products are produced fairly.

Hydrophil donates 10% of its profits to the non-profit association Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli e.V., which is committed to providing access to clean drinking water for people in countries of the global South.
