Why natural deodorant?

Natural deodorant is good for your health and good for the environment. With regular deodorant, it is often unclear what you are putting on your body, with a long list of ingredients with incomprehensible terms. We all understand the importance of healthy eating, but what you put on your body is just as important!

Choose a deodorant with natural and plant-based ingredients, without parabens, alcohol, aluminum and animal substances that your skin does not benefit from. Fortunately, there is also no testing on animals! In addition, the packaging is often a lot more environmentally friendly, made of cardboard, cork or tin, for example, in contrast to regular deodorants in polluting aerosol cans or plastic packaging.

Why is the natural deodorant alternative harmful?

One of the most important ingredients in regular deodorant is often aluminum, an antiperspirant that clogs your pores and thus prevents sweating. Because there is still a lot of uncertainty about the health risks, the presence of aluminum in deodorant is reason enough for us to switch to deodorant without aluminum.

Natural deodorant has an antibacterial effect that counteracts unpleasant odors, but is not an antiperspirant and therefore does not clog pores. Sweating is a natural process to regulate our body temperature. Many people assume that we stink from sweat and therefore want to use an antiperspirant, but it is the bacteria that break down the sweat and cause unpleasant odors.

A common alternative to aluminum is baking soda. Baking soda is a mineral with antibacterial properties and helps neutralize odors.

How does spreadable deodorant work?

The name says it all, but you have to apply deodorant under your armpits. For some people it might take some getting used to because it works differently than we are used to, but don't forget that your armpits are clean before applying the deodorant and it is also good to stay in contact with your body. And, after applying it once, you will smell nice for the rest of the day!

How does the deodorant stick work?

The crystal deodorant stick from Biork works basically like a regular roller stick that rubs under your armpits. You only have to wet the tip of the Biork stick beforehand. After application, the mineral salts dry quickly and form a protective layer on your skin that inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria.
