This plastic-free sunscreen from Not the Norm! is a perfectly blended combination of just four natural, moisturising and sun-resistant ingredients. RoKai contains 72% organic, sustainably-sourced, unrefined, fragrance-free and non-nano ingredients. It’s a perfect mineral-based broad spectrum sunscreen for every body - even those of you who are unable to use any other sunscreens. RoKai has been developed to keep your skin naturally healthy whilst blocking UVA and UVB rays that can burn and cause sun damage.

Conventional sunscreen contains chemicals like Oxybenzone that are harmful to the coral. These chemicals disrupt the coral's reproduction and growth cycle, leading to coral bleaching. RoKai does not contain toxic chemicals, no unnecessary fragrances, no liquid polymers or microplastics that could damage your health or wreak havoc on the environment!

Four Natural Ingredients
Organic Shea Butter
Soil Association certified organic unrefined shea butter is not only an edible ingredient, it is also anti-inflammatory, prevents premature ageing and is highly moisturising.

Organic Coconut Oil
Soil Association certified organic unrefined virgin coconut oil which has a natural, although low, SPF.

Non-Nano Zinkoxide
Widely acknowledged as offering the safest, broadest-spectrum sun protection possible. RoKai contains a pharmaceutical grade uncoated, non-Nano Zinc Oxide, which also has a cooling, slightly astringent, antiseptic, antibacterial and protective action on the skin, making RoKai a perfect aftersun also.

Sustainable Beexwax
A pure, sustainably-sourced unrefined beeswax is used in RoKai. It's completely non-toxic, locks in moisture, has excellent water-repellent properties and is naturally nourishing to the skin. In cosmetics, beeswax is an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-allergenic and a germicidal antioxidant making it a perfect sunscreen ingredient.

How to use
Apply generously before sun exposure and smooth out any natural lumps, works immediately. Reapply regularly at least every 2 - 3 hours or after exposure to water or after sweating. If it’s cold and quite firm, rub it vigorously with warm fingertips to make it softer, or scoop some out of the tin and warm it between your hands.

RoKai may leave a white cast on the skin, this is the mineral non-nano zinc oxide sitting on the skin, and it's the active ingredient that protects you from the UVA & UVB rays. Non-nano particles sit on the skin as a physical barrier and don't absorb into the skin and the bloodstream - the very safest form of active ingredient for sunscreens.

Packaging
There is a plastic liner inside the recyclable aluminium lid which makes the tin leak proof and air tight. This also helps to preserve the product longer. We recommend reusing the tins as much as you can and if you do throw them away, recycle the plastic liner separately.
