The pads and panty liners contain a thin layer of certified PUL (polyurethane laminate polyester) making them leak-proof. You’re probably thinking: polyester, isn’t that plastic? That's right, but the amount of plastic that is used is very small compared to single-use sanitary pads and is reused over and over again. PUL ensures that the pads are leak-free. Reusable tampons work just like a disposable tampon. They are free from chemicals, absorb well and are comfortable to use.

How to use the tampon
Roll the tampon, adjust how loose or tight you would like it to be. Finish by securing the cord around the tampon. Insert the tampon just like you would a normal tampon. Change the tampon every 4-5 hours or when the tampon is getting full and needs changing.

After use, rinse the tampon in cold water and store in a wet bag. Wash them in a washing bag along with the rest of your laundry. After washing, boil them in water for a few minutes to get rid of any washing powder residues. Do not use any bleach or fabric softener.

Please note!
Reusable tampons made of organic cotton can still cause TSS (toxic shock syndrome) just as store-bought disposable tampons can. Please remember to change them regularly!

Milieu Centraal calculated that the average person disposes of approximately 10,000 tampons or cloth pads during their life. That is 90 kilos of cloth pads or 60 kilos of tampons in residual waste. Washing reusable cloth pads will also have an impact on the environment. At this moment, not enough research has been conducted to conclude whether disposable or reusable menstrual products are better for the environment.
