The Bambaw copper tongue scraper provides a clean and fresh feeling, a good start to the day! Tongue cleaning originated thousands of years ago in the Indian medical system of Ayurveda. It is now becoming increasingly popular in Europe, as it is a good way to prevent bad breath and oral diseases.
Using a tongue scraper daily helps the body eliminate toxins that have built up in the mouth overnight, leaving you feeling refreshed and clean as you start your day.
The advantages of the tongue scraper at a glance:
- Removes toxins and bacteria from the tongue
- Helps remove the coating on the tongue that causes bad breath
- Helps remove undigested food particles from the tongue
- Improves your sense of taste
- Promotes overall oral and digestive health
The Arista tongue scrapers are sustainably produced in India and are made of pure copper, which is known for its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties.
Instructions for use
If desired, you can sterilize the tongue scraper by immersing it in boiling water for 5 minutes. Carefully remove the tongue cleaner from the water and allow it to cool before use. Dry thoroughly to prevent oxidation.
Start at the back of your tongue and gradually scrape towards the front to remove the white layer on the tongue. Do not use too much pressure when scraping. Repeat as often as necessary. Rinse the tongue scraper with water and dry thoroughly with a towel. If you do not dry it properly, the water will oxidize the copper and you will get stains.
The best time to use the tongue scraper is in the morning. The body detoxifies itself at night and many toxins are released through the tongue.
Oxidation of copper
Because copper is a naturally occurring element, it can change color when exposed to elements such as air and water. This is known as patina, a thin coating that naturally forms on copper in a process known as oxidation.
If exposed to air, the copper will form a dark patina. If exposed to water, it will form a greenish blue patina. This discoloration is completely natural and does not affect the functioning of the product, nor the antibacterial properties of the copper.
However, if you want your tongue scraper to look as good as new again, follow these simple steps:
- Add 1 tablespoon of salt to 1 cup of white vinegar
- Make a paste by adding flour and mix well
- Apply the mixture to the affected areas
- Let it soak for 15 to 30 minutes
- Rinse with warm water and polish
If you don't have salt and vinegar on hand, you can also use lemon juice and baking soda.

Bambaw
In 2015 shocked the global scale of plastic pollution the twin brothers Max and Augustin. They wondered how they could produce as little waste as possible in their lives and how others could help do the same. They came to a simple conclusion: offer alternatives to polluting products to combat pollution at its source.
Bambaw's goal is to become completely CO2 neutral. To achieve this, they calculate the total environmental impact of their supply chain together with Carbon Trust. They calculate the entire journey of each product, from production to arrival at the customer. The shipping method, the length of the journey and the weight are carefully monitored to get a good picture of the emissions. Bambaw has chosen to compensate its impact on the climate by supporting an environmental project in Malawi.
Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world where the majority of the population still uses biomass for cooking (e.g. wood, charcoal, dung or crop residues). Bambaw supports a climate project that efficient cooking stoves to the people. The cooking stoves help the population to reduce the consumption of biomass to half of the current consumption.
