UpCircle gives 'waste' a second life by incorporating ingredients that would otherwise be discarded into its natural facial care. UpCircle's coffee facial scrub is made with Arabica coffee grounds, sourced from a growing number of coffee bars in London. The scrub gently rubs away dry, dead cells, leaving your skin soft and radiant. The shea butter ensures that your skin is nourished and hydrated after scrubbing.
The floral blend coffee scrub has a lovely floral scent and is suitable for sensitive skin and contains essential oils of chamomile, rosehip, geranium and patchouli. Chamomile is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, calming redness and irritation, making it an ideal remedy for skin conditions such as rosacea, acne and psoriasis.
Rich in essential fatty acids including linoleic and linolenic acids, rosehip oil effectively hydrates dry, itchy skin. The antioxidants are easily absorbed and penetrate deep into the skin layers for intense hydration.
Rich in Vitamin E and B, jojoba has a similar composition to sebum, which helps to keep the skin balanced and prevents excess build-up. It hydrates and helps to rehydrate dry, dehydrated skin.
The facial scrub is also available in Citrus Blend for dry skin and Herbal Blend for acne.
Instructions for use
Shake the scrub vigorously before use to mix the different ingredients well. Make circular movements with a small amount of scrub on damp skin. Leave on for a while, rinse with warm water and pat dry. This natural facial scrub can be used several times a week.

Packaging
The scrubs come in a glass jar with an aluminum lid. The packaging is fully recyclable. There is a plastic liner in the lid. This is to protect the aluminum lid from the essential oils in the scrub. Essential oils can cause aluminum to oxidize (meaning it gets a black coating) which can spoil the product. There is currently no better alternative available. We recommend reusing the jars as much as possible. If you are throwing them away, remove the plastic liner from the lid and put it in the plastic waste.

UpCircle
UpCircle was founded in 2016 by twin brother and sister Will and Anna. The circular economy is at the heart of UpCircle’s approach. The name UpCircle refers to ‘upcycling’; the process of making something that already exists better. UpCircle’s mission is to leave the world better than it found it by transforming otherwise wasted ingredients into natural, organic beauty products.
Every product in UpCircle’s portfolio contains and rescues byproducts from other industries – specifically the food and beverage industry. The UpCircle story began with the idea of giving used coffee grounds a second life. In addition to coffee grounds, UpCircle is now also giving chai tea spices and fruit pits a new lease on life. Food ingredients can have powerful effects on the body – inside and out. This opens up the possibility of creating beauty products from food ingredients that would otherwise be thrown away, but that still have a lot to offer our skin.
UpCircle uses only the finest plant-based ingredients and never tests on animals. UpCircle products are 99% plastic-free in packaging, and for the remaining 1% they offer plastic-free refill options.
