LoofCo body loofahs are handmade in Egypt from the loofah plant, a biodegradable alternative to plastic shower sponges. The loofah fits comfortably in the hand and when submerged in water, it swells into a soft, flexible sponge. The sponge provides a gentle scrub in the shower or bath. With normal use, the sponge will last for months and when worn out, it can be composted. Each sponge has a convenient loop for hanging.
Loofah is a renewable resource that absorbs CO2 as it grows. The loofah plant is a vigorously growing plant from the cucumber family that is rich in sustainable fibers yet soft and flexible. When ripe, the inside of the loofah fruit develops a network of fibers that are perfect for cleaning and exfoliating when dried. The loofahs are harvested, peeled, deseeded, dried, cut into lengths and processed by hand in Egypt. This method of processing is a natural tradition that has been passed down through many generations.
Instructions for use
Rinse the sponge thoroughly before first use. The sponge is abrasive when dry, but when immersed in water it swells into a soft, flexible sponge. Use the loofah in the shower or bath on damp, soapy skin using circular motions to cleanse, refresh, and lightly exfoliate your skin. To keep the loofah fresh, squeeze out excess water and hang the sponge by the cotton loop to air dry. Machine wash occasionally or hand wash as desired.
