The Vejibag is a healthy, environmentally friendly alternative to plastic. In a Vejibag you can keep vegetables and fruit fresh for much longer than in plastic! Just like flowers, vegetables need water to stay alive. Vegetables that like a moist environment rot much less quickly in a moist cotton bag. The slightly moist environment of the bag keeps vegetables crisp for much longer than vegetables stored in a plastic bag. The Vejibag is made of sustainably produced GOTS-certified organic cotton terry cloth.
The standard Vejibag is the perfect size for carrots, cucumbers, peppers and baby spinach. The long bag can be used to store kale, celery, zucchini and larger quantities of loose leafy greens.
How does the Vejibag work?
Wet the bag and wring it out. Put your washed vegetables in it and put it in the refrigerator. The water in the fabric will slowly evaporate and transport the moisture from the vegetables to the outside of the Vejibag. This creates a humid environment in which the vegetables can breathe and which naturally slows down the spoilage process. If the bag dries out after a few days, wet it a little again by holding it, vegetables and all, under the tap.

Vejibag
Vejibag was founded in 2013 by Sally Erickson out of necessity. She needed to keep her vegetables as fresh as possible from the moment they were harvested to the moment they were sold at the market. She wanted to do this without creating plastic waste or using toxic chemicals.
Sally discovered that moisture-loving vegetables are best stored in a cool, moist environment and discovered that our grandmothers wrapped vegetables in a damp tea towel to keep them fresh longer. This gave her the idea to create handy organic cotton bags, without plastic and with a beautiful result: the Vejibag.
The Vejibags are made of organic cotton terry cloth from the United States. The fabric is free of dyes and chemicals. The cotton bags are sewn in a factory owned by the workers.
