Beat the Microbead - Zero Plastic Inside

Research shows that many more types of plastics are added to personal care products than just the ‘classic’ plastic microbeads. Did you know that nowadays more than 500 microplastic ingredients that are widely used in cosmetics & personal care products? To make sure that cosmetic products are completely free of any microplastic ingredients, you need a guarantee.

The Beat the Microbead campaign was initiated by the Plastic Soup Foundation in 2012. The aim of the campaign is preventing microplastics in personal care products from ending up in the environment. The 'Look for the Zero - Zero Plastic Inside' logo can be carried by brands and companies that do not use any microplastic ingredients in their products. The logo is provided free of charge to cosmetic & personal care brands after sharing their full list of ingredients with Beat the Microbead and signing the following statement: "We as a producer declare that all of our products from the brand […] are 100% microplastic free”.
