Organic Cotton
The tampons are made from just one ingredient: pure, natural, organic cotton fibers and thread. Organic cotton is naturally soft, pH-neutral, breathable and absorbent. The sustainably grown organic cotton is grown without the use of fertilisers, herbicides & pesticides. The cotton is purified with a completely Totally Chlorine Free (TCF) process, without any chlorine or dioxins!
The cotton is Soil Association Certification and Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified. GOTS is the leading governing body for organic textiles like cotton. GOTS certification ensures the cotton is ethically sourced and made without chemical pesticides, forced labour, child labour, or unfair wages.
Compostable
The &Sisters tampons are biodegradable and compostable. Organic cotton tampons are considered brown compost (just like paper and cardboard). Brown compost needs more time to biodegrade than green post. To help them break down faster, it is recommended to cut them up with scissors before putting them into the compost. It can take about 18 months to fully decompose.

The tampons are individually wrapped in recyclable paper.
