This natural UpCircle’s cleansing balm with apricot powder is perfect for gently removing makeup (even mascara), but also the impurities and pollution of the day. Using it will leave your skin deeply cleansed, softened and hydrated. The apricot powder is combined with skin-soothing blackcurrant seeds, blue tansy and sea buckthorn oils. The cleansing cream has a lovely lemongrass smell and is suitable for all skin types.
Apricot powder
UpCircle gives ingredients that would otherwise be discarded a second chance by adding them to their natural facial care products. This cleansing cream is made with the finely-ground powder of discarded apricot stones, a natural by-product of the apricot oil industry. The powder is deeply rich in antioxidants (Vitamin E), and also helps with the dispersion and absorption of the end product.
Sea buckthorn oil
Sea buckthorn oil –which is high in vitamin E, C and Omega 7 fatty acids– helps the skin retain its elasticity. Naturally hydrating, this oil keeps skin moisturised, preventing dryness and irritation.
Rosemary oil
Rosemary oil provides stimulation, oxygenation and an overall refreshment to the skin. It is also antibacterial, which is helpful to prevent breakouts! Rosemary oil is an anti-inflammatory and also works wonders on puffiness around the eyes.
Oat oil
Oat oil is rich in vitamin E, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, and antioxidants that protect you against harmful pollutants. It is known for its ability to soothe maturing, sensitive and/or damaged skin, and supports its elasticity.
How to use
With your fingers, massage a coin-sized amount of this cleansing balm onto your face in circular and upward motions. Remove it with a warm, damp cloth. Suitable for daily use.
Use the UpCircle metal scoops to simply get the cream without having to use your fingers.
It is the perfect first cleanser to break down make-up, sunscreen, and any oils on the surface of the skin. Complete your routine with a water-based cleanser to remove any impurities in the pores.
Beat the Microbead - Microplastics
UpCircle's cleansing balm has the'Look for the Zero - Zero Plastic Inside' logo from Beat the Microbead.
Packaging
This cleansing balm comes in a glass jar with an aluminium lid. The packaging is fully recyclable. There is a plastic liner in the cap which makes the bottle leakproof and airtight. It also helps to preserve the product longer and protect the lid from the essential oils. Essential oils can cause aluminium to oxidise (meaning it develops a black coating) which can spoil the product. At present, there is no suitable alternative. We recommend reusing the bottles as much as you can and if you do throw them away, recycle the plastic liner separately.

Over het merk
In 2016, UpCircle siblings Will and Anna quit their jobs and risked it all to nurture and grow their by-product beauty baby. The circular economy sits at the heart of what UpCircle does. UpCircle hints at ‘upcycling’, the process of making something better from things that already exist. The UpCircle mission is to leave the world better than they found it by transforming ingredients that would otherwise be discarded into natural, organic beauty products.
Each product in UpCircle’s range sources and rescues by-products from other industries – the food and drink industry in particular. The UpCircle story started with the idea of giving used coffee grounds a new lease of life. UpCircle now also gives chai tea spices and fruit stones a new beginning. At UpCircle nothing is safe from being UpCircled! Food ingredients can have powerful effects on the body - inside and out – so there’s an opportunity to create beauty products from food ingredients that are being discarded yet still have much to offer our skin.
UpCircle uses only the finest plant-based ingredients, and never test on animals. The packaging across UpCircle’s range is 99% plastic-free and they offer plastic-free refill options for the 1%.
