  • UpCircle gives ingredients that would otherwise be discarded a second chance by adding them to their natural facial care products. The coffee face scrub from UpCircle is made with high-quality Arabica coffee grounds procured from artisan coffee shops across London. They allow you to say goodbye to dead cells in the gentlest manner and restore your skin's natural radiance. These natural face scrubs contain shea butter and coconut oil to moisturise and leave your skin feeling heavenly soft. Rosehip oil is also used; rich in essential fatty acids, including linoleic and linolenic acids, it is effective in properly hydrating the skin.

The floral blend coffee scrub has a wonderful floral smell and is lovely for sensitive skin. It is formulated with rosehip oil, as well as chamomile, geranium and patchouli essential oils. Chamomile oil is the perfect addition to your routine if you have skin problems, whether it is rosacea, acne, or psoriasis. Its anti-inflammatory properties are helpful to calm any redness and irritation. Jojoba oil has a similar composition to sebum: rich in important vitamins E and B, it deeply moisturises your skin while preventing excess sebum buildup. Finally, the sweet patchouli oil makes your skin look vibrant and healthy.

The natural face scrub is also available in Citrus Blend for Dry Skin and Herbal Blend for acne.

    How to use
Before using your scrub, shake it vigorously. Applying the product onto a damp face and make circular motions. Leave it on for a few moments, then rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry. This coffee face scrub can be used several times a week.

    Beat the Microbead - Microplastics
UpCircle's face scrubs have the 'Look for the Zero - Zero Plastic Inside' logo from Beat the Microbead.

    Packaging
The scrubs come in a glass jar with an aluminium lid. The packaging is fully recyclable. There is a plastic liner in the cap which makes the bottle leakproof and airtight. It also helps to preserve the product longer and protect the lid from the essential oils. Essential oils can cause aluminium to oxidise (meaning it develops a black coating) which can spoil the product. At present, there is no suitable alternative. We recommend reusing the bottles as much as you can and if you do throw them away, recycle the plastic liner separately.

About the brand

UpCircle

In 2016, UpCircle siblings Will and Anna quit their jobs and risked it all to nurture and grow their by-product beauty baby. The circular economy sits at the heart of what UpCircle does. UpCircle hints at ‘upcycling’, the process of making something better from things that already exist. The UpCircle mission is to leave the world better than they found it by transforming ingredients that would otherwise be discarded into natural, organic beauty products.

Each product in UpCircle’s range sources and rescues by-products from other industries – the food and drink industry in particular. The UpCircle story started with the idea of giving used coffee grounds a new lease of life. UpCircle now also gives chai tea spices and fruit stones a new beginning. At UpCircle nothing is safe from being UpCircled! Food ingredients can have powerful effects on the body - inside and out – so there’s an opportunity to create beauty products from food ingredients that are being discarded yet still have much to offer our skin.

UpCircle uses only the finest plant-based ingredients, and never test on animals. The packaging across UpCircle’s range is 99% plastic-free and they offer plastic-free refill options for the 1%.
